Delicious food! Good portion for the price, you can try more than one thing. The salsa is fantastic, they sell it to go.

This was without a doubt one of the best dining experiences I had! The service was quick and the place wasn’t crowded. Our food was fresh and absolutely delicious! I love how simple the menu layout is, and it wasn’t traditional style Tex mex like I’m used to. I would recommend this to ANYONE in the area that enjoys authentic Mexican tastes and dishes at an excellent price!

Hands down best steak tacos in town. The lunch buffet isn’t something to write home about, the inside atmosphere is great. If only they had a place to park. 10/10 would recommend for anyone in Lexington area.

Been searching for a place to get tacos comparable to the ones I found in Mexico. This place was perfect. Everything I had was authentic and not "Tex Mex" or fast food style tacos. By far the best place north of the border.

EDIT: They now have their own building with inside seating! By far one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Lexington! This is a hole in the wall you don't want to miss. The menu is extensive, ranging from gorditas and burritos to duller meal plates. Both the red and green salsas are amazing, try both! My favorite gorditas are the egg and cactus ones, but again try them all to see which is your favorite! Service is fast and served with a smile. Great job! And yes, the staff IS bilingual, so order in Spanish or English!

Had chicken fajita was dry peppers n onions wasn't cooked long enough. Had no flavor,chip m salsa was way better than dinner.

The server could have been more attentive. Thsteak could have been more flavorful and tender. No parking up front so we parked out back. Entrance not marked. No lighting at rear. Could be a good place if they cared a little more. Not going back.

Excellent value! One of my favorite places to go and save my money. I always get guacamole, a Mexican coke, and a few burritos. The burritos are in delicious handmade tortillas. Shredded beef with potato and the Pork with Green Sauce are my two favorites! I like to smother it all in housemade green salsa.

This is the only place I know of that one can enjoy a good bowl of menudo and the lengua tacos were delicious as well. This is Authentic Mexican food like my mother would cook. Couldn't recommend Maria's kitchen more, but if you're the type that thinks that what the other restaurant serves is authentic, I'm here to tell ya, no dice. Maria's is what I've been missing for years. Glad I found it and I will be a regular from here on out.

Good buffet service was not so good

I would love to give it higher score cause the food is great, and they have good deals on drinks. However the service is always so terrible I take extended breaks between visits cause it's so frustrating. This is the only review I have ever left for a place cause I would love to see this problem fixed.

Best Mexican food in town by far, and I've tried a lot of it. Their burritos seriously rival those from the Mission in SF. Do yourself a favor and check this family-owned place out. There's even a good chance that Maria herself will bring your food to your table!

Very high on price for what food they had out. Very limited on choices as far as main food. Everything was cheese with no meat in them like quesadillas and tostadas. Will not be back. The cost was $14.99 for lunch. Extremely high.

The good: the food is great! Really great! Best chicken quesadilla in town. The bad: one has never seen waitstaff with so little hustle or care for their jobs. Fire them all. You can barely call the service horrible as it’s nonexistent. Refill drinks? Nope. Make sure the order comes out right with the sour cream on the side as ordered? Nope. Bring a check? Nope. Refill salsa? Nope. Apologize for getting the order wrong? Nope. Chat with the other waitstaff and text on your phone with a dining room half full of customers? Yes. Wait to be flagged down by a customer instead of checking in with the table during the meal? Yes. Next time I’m getting the delicious food to go!

Excellent lunch buffet. This is real authentic Mexican food, and having lived in Mexico before I can appreciate it. Lunch buffet is very reasonably priced. The location isn't great and it's hard to find a parking spot, but the food makes up for it.

Original Zomato Review 10/4/13 - Here's Your Sign. A friend and I went by Maria's the other day for lunch. This is not chips and salsa Tex Mex! I ordered standard Mexican fare, steak quesadilla and steak tacos.The flour tortillas were excellent and they packed a lot of steak in each of the items. I was surprised to get that much steak in a taco priced at $1.75. The steak was flavored well and cooked perfectly. I am a green salsa fan and Maria's was one of the best I've had in some time.We were there about 10 minutes before the rush of Mexicans that came to eat at Maria's. One knows the food is good when it draws people from the home country. Highly recommended!

Fantastic food!! They've raised the prices a*little* since moving into the old Willie's, but it's well worth it. The guacamole is hands down the best in Lexington. Fresh, homemade. My favorite burrito is the carne asada. All of the tortillas are hand made.And try all the sauces!!!
